Pastor Don’s Blog

Dear Mosaic Family,

In 2009 we’ve launched two new mission initiatives that will have a long-lasting impact on our church family.

In today’s eletter, Dave Everson pointed out that the two teams going to Peru are part of a plan to explore a longer-term partnership with YWAM-Iquitos and Mosaic.  When Mark Rohlin and I were in Peru two years ago, we discussed this idea with Clark Barnard, the base director.  Over the last two years, our elder team prayed over this and sensed God urging it forward. When Brent and I taught at the YWAM school in March of this year, we did further preparations for this year’s teams.  Clark Barnard has been in Rochester several times since then working with Mark Rohlin on long-range projects.   It’s exciting to see how it’s all fitting together!

The second initiative is in partnership with Lionshare Leadership, led by Dave Buehring.  Starting in January of this year, Ed Keegan and I enrolled in the Leadership Journey course.  Dave made a very generous offer; that if we participated in the course, we could develop a satellite leadership course here in NY.  That’s a great gift- in light of the years Dave invested in the development of this material.  The training material is FANTASTIC and will be a great blessing to Mosaic leaders in the years ahead.

WHAT WE HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND…is that every new God-led initiative has spiritual battle to go with it.  The Evil One doesn’t want Mosaic bringing support and long-term benefits to Peru.  He doesn’t want Mosaic training leaders with deeper foundations that will provide them with lifetime tools for kingdom advancement!  These initiatives also cost money..and that’s one of our battle points.

So we’re asking every Mosaic member to pray more diligently than ever before.  Pray for:

*  the leaders and members of the missions teams

*  our elder team and leadership groups as we seek God’s will and action plan,

*  for continued provision financially for Mosaic over the summer and fall months.

*  that we’ll find the building we’re to rent or buy in the months ahead.

Normally, giving goes down in the summer months.  Please stay alert and faithful in your giving in the months ahead.  This allows us to stay on course with these areas of service to the nations.

Thank you for praying, for giving, for seeking God’s heart for all that we need to continue forward!

En Cristo,

Don Riling
