Water Baptism at Summer Camp: September 5

• If you have not been water baptized since choosing to become a Christ-follower, this is an important declaration of your faith.  The Bible instructs us to be water baptized as a step in our obedience to Christ (Acts 2:38).
• Children from age 7 and up are welcome if they have an understanding of what it means to follow Christ and upon approval by Mosaic Children’s Pastor, Eric Brown.
• Further questions about the theology of water baptism may be directed to Mosaic elders, Joe Hancock (hancockfive@rochester.rr.com) and Eric Brown (eric@mosaicrochester.com).
• TIME: Arrive by 7:45 am on Sunday, September 5, at LeTourneau’s Dining Hall for the required Baptism Instruction session during breakfast.  Baptism held after breakfast in the Lake Swim area at 9:15 am.
• BRING: Towels, Swim Suit and cover-up, or modest clothing for the water.

Child Dedications

• Mosaic offers parents the opportunity to have their children dedicated at a ceremony either during or after the Sunday morning worship celebrations.
• We now have a list of dates available on a “first come first served” basis from September – December.

JULY 30 ONTIC & X-STREAM youth groups spent the day at Darien Lake’s Theme Park and Splash Town.

JULY 11 INLET DANCE THEATRE Professional contemporary dance company from Cleveland, OH, gave a full performance at Mosaic on Sunday morning, July 11. Visit inletdance.org.

JUNE 27 ONTIC After church, Mosaic’s youth group of 7th – 12th graders headed to the Teitsworths’ place in Mumford for an afternoon of games, food, hiking, horseback riding, and a hot-air balloon ride!

JUNE 27 VOTE on 2010-11 BUDGET During the Sunday morning service, Mosaic members affirmed the proposed budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year.  Pledge forms were also collected.

JUNE 13 RHYTHM EVENT On Sunday, June 13, the entire Mosaic family participated in an interactive rhythm event facilitated by Ed Keegan.  To learn more about Ed’s “rhythm circles,” visit www.rhythmconnect.com.

MAY 9 MOTHER’S DAY Jane Riling, Pastor Don’s mother, was our special guest speaker. A special time at the end of the service was dedicated to honoring all women.

MAY 8 X-STREAM ARTISTIC EVENING Mosaic’s youth group of 5th – 7th graders met at Jeremy and Casandra Boehlke’s house on Saturday night, May 8, to make gifts for Mother’s Day.  X-Stream meets every other Sunday morning.  If you want to experience God and hang out with some extreme 5th – 7th graders, join us… and bring a friend!

MAY 7 ONTIC Mosaic’s youth group of 7th – 12th graders met at the Mosaic Studio in Pittsford on Friday night, May 7.  This gathering was unique – an authentic Latin American birthday celebration!  Ontic meets every other Friday night.  If you are in junior or senior high, join us… and bring a friend!

MAY 2 SUPER HERO SUNDAY Mosaic’s Kidz.Comm dressed up as Super Heroes and learned about the character traits that make ordinary kids into God’s extraordinary super heroes.

APRIL 18 BRIAN MOORE performed two original songs during Mosaic’s worship celebration. Local musical artist, Brian Moore, is the founder of bmoore Productions – recording, engineering and music production – and Red Booth Recording, whose studio is now located in Pittsford, NY.  Check out myspace.com/redboothrecording.

MARCH 21 Special Guest Speaker, CLARK BARNARD Clark Barnard, founder/director of YWAM Iquitos in Peru, shared on two great leaders in history: Sir Ernest Shackleton (Antarctic explorer) and the young slave girl who served an army captain (story found in the book of Judges in the Bible).  Catch his inspiring and challenging message, “Leading by Example,” on Mosaic podcast today!

MARCH 19-20 MOSAIC LEADERSHIP RETREAT Current active-duty team leaders gathered at LeTourneau Christian Retreat Center for a weekend retreat.  Special guest speaker, Clark Barnard, used principles found in the book Shackleton’s Way to encourage and equip Mosaic leaders.  Joe Hancock facilitated strategic planning sessions for Mosaic’s missional effectiveness.

MARCH 5 LIVING IN RHYTHM Ed Keegan of Rhythm Connect (www.rhythmconnect.com) and Topher Holt of Tupilo (www. tupilo.com) facilitated this uplifting interactive rhythm session for adults desiring deeper spiritual growth. Event was free and instruments were provided.  7 – 9 pm at Mosaic’s Studio in Pittsford.

FEBRUARY 12-13 ONTIC RETREAT Mosaic’s youth group of 7th – 12th graders spent the weekend at the Mosaic Office and Studio location for the annual Ontic Retreat.  Topic of Discussion?  Dating and Relationships.

FEBRUARY 5 QUARTERLY CONNECTIONS Pursue deeper spiritual growth through worship, equipping, and small groups.

JANUARY 10-FEBRUARY 14 THE FATHER HEART OF GOD Parts 1-6 by Don Riling.  We all bring our own views of God to the table, but how does He describe Himself?  Knowing and experiencing His love, as it really is, can change us forever.

JANUARY 3 PANCAKE BUFFET & FUN DAY Mosaic met at the Perinton Community Recreation Center for a great time of food, activities, and unplugged worship. Pastor Don also shared a quick, challenging message for the new year.

DECEMBER 27 NO MOSAIC SERVICE Since MCC’s campus was closed for the holidays, Mosaic did not meet together but took this day to spend more time with family and friends, or to reach out to someone in need.

DECEMBER 13 CELTIC CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION From the ancient traditions of Celtic Christianity flow music and dance that inspire us to celebrate Christmas in a fresh way. This innovative presentation  included Irish Dance and music, worship, and an inspirational message enhanced by a beautiful stage set.

DECEMBER 11 KIDZ’ NIGHT & X-STREAM PAINT-A-THON We value supporting single parents, marriages, and healthy families at Mosaic. To help families prepare for a peaceful Christmas season, the Kidz.Comm staff sponsored another Kidz’ Night! Parents got a Friday night free for holiday shopping or a date!  At the same time, X-Stream kids painted banners of their new logo!  What a night!

NOVEMBER 22 OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD Make an eternal impact in the life of a child this Christmas by packing a shoe box full of gifts for a needy boy or girl.  OCC is through Samaritan’s Purse International Relief (www.samaritanspurse.org).

It will feature the World Premiere of “Flight 1549” inspired by that miraculous landing in the Hudson River and accompanied by its cockpit audio tape. APRIL 26 INTERACTIVE RHYTHM EVENT Experience “church” in a whole new way! Ed Keegan will guide us to connect with God and each other through the power of rhythm in a way that you won’t want to miss! Ed is a professional drummer/percussionist and facilitator with over 20 years experience.

APRIL 26 X-STREAM BOWL-A-ROLL! 6-8pm at Bowl-A-Roll Lanes, 1560 Jefferson Road. Cost is $10 for the bowling, food is extra (scholarships are available). Bring friends and a love for 80’s music!

APRIL 19 “RESOLVING CONFLICT” Part 2 -  Darren Stevenson

APRIL 12 EASTER AT MOSAIC!
1) A new series begins, “Resolving Conflict.”

2) A special song will be performed by Mosaic’s band and 11 vocalists entitled, “Skeleton Bones.”

3) PUSH PHYSICAL THEATRE performs the piece “Grace” during the service. Often when grace is most present in our lives, we are most oblivious to it. Accepting help, whether from mentors, strangers, or of a more spiritual kind, can be a humbling and sometimes difficult experience. A simple act of kindness is a powerful thing.

4) An EASTER EGG HUNT will be held for all kids 5 years old through 4th grade!
